I arrived on the Isle of Man at the beginning of 2020, largely broken.Years of full-contact martial arts had left their mark: physically, neurologically, existentially. The life I had built, the identity I had shaped around movement and mastery, had begun to unravel. I was in pain, body, mind, and spirit.
So I did the only thing I could:
I walked
Not with a plan. Not for exercise. Just to move without breaking further. I walked the coastal paths, the woodland trails, the quiet streets. And over time, step by step, something began to shift. Not just in my body, but in my way of seeing, being, thinking. I began taking notes.
First, just small reflections. Later, whole questions. Then memories.
Eventually, those fragments turned into something more coherent. They became this book. Walking Lived Philosophy Home isn’t a guidebook. It’s not a self-help manual. It’s a field companion for anyone who’s found themselves disoriented in life, and suspects that the way back isn’t through pushing harder, but through slowing down, listening differently, and remembering how to be fully human.
It blends personal experience, philosophical reflection, research, and simple walking practices you can carry with you, wherever you are.If you’re in a moment of transition, grief, restlessness, or just need to remember what matters, this book might walk beside you.

" I wanted to recommend this new book from one of my favorite authors on the internet, Dr. Rodney King. I just bought a copy myself and I am really enjoying it so far. Rodney’s life story is incredible and the work he is doing to help others is incredibly timely." - Paul Musso, PhD, Philosopher
